Ive been looking into the homestead rural lamd program. I also found a 40 acre farm that can be used for a microfarm community. That way people are closer together for protection and room to grow food, make money with a trade or craft, with a place for a store to sell items made on the farm. Having a community before things get really bad, means being set up for no electric, having space and tools already set up for growing in adverse conditions, as where you live now may not be right for this. If you cant move due to job, you could come on weekends or when free to develop your spot. Then decide to transition or use as a bug out location when forced to move. Having a place with a dry bed and food is peace of mind. Then you only need to carry important papers and essentials to get there. That way if the road is jammed up, damaged or cut off you could walk to the destination. Have meetup points and routes, and alternate for getting to safety in case a flood or other problem causes a reroute.
Unless you have a sure location spot, where would you go. Some have family members they could go be with, but make sure to try it out before hand. See how receptive tbey are to sharing space before you haul all your preps there.
